To create the upright mane, you will need to cut a shallow channel along the top of the neck, from between the ears to the top of the shoulders. Next cut a couple of lengths of Merino Raven roughly 3.5cm (1.3in) in length, card them lightly so they are ready to use and gently take a small pinch of Merino Raven, place across the cut channel and felt in the length down the centre, so that it is pushed into the channel and each side stands up and meets as you felt. Continue down the length of the channel. Next, prepare a small amount of Sand of shorter length, around 2cm (0.78in) card; take a pinch of wool and add along both sides of the mane, to give a brown tinge to the outer edges of the dark mane. When done, trim mane to length.
